River day with Community Group

We spent a great day yesterday with our Community Group from church at the river! Of course, the only pictures I got were mostly of the kiddos, but they're the most fun to photograph anyway! Cooper had a blast playing with his buddy, Harrison. These boys are only two weeks apart, so it was fun to see them interact on each other's level all day! Thanks, Fites, for a great day at your cabin!

Sushi!

My sister, Natalie, and I ordered sushi for dinner tonight, and we decided to let Cooper try his own roll. He has asked for ours before, but we had items in the roll that he was allergic to, so the California roll was just what we needed! He was so excited about his own "shushi" and even ate some edamame! I am so proud of our little healthy eater! Please excuse the quality of the blackberry picture.

Blog slacker & new camera

I am back. Since I have been pregnant, I have struggled with creativity about posts on the blog and, usually, failed miserably. I have had to remind myself that the main reason I like to blog is to capture what is going on in our lives, and Cooper's life especially, without scrapbooking! So, I'm back to catch up, and hopefully, I will gain inspiration as September 4th (due date) comes along. I will definitely be spending some of these hot (94 degrees already this week) afternoons with my feet up in the air-conditioning over the summer weeks to come!

Speaking of feet being up, my friend, Katy, who is also pregnant & due next month wrote the funniest post about her daughter "catching" her pregnancy symptoms. The same thing happened to us this weekend at the river. As most of you know, I have had constant nausea since January. At the river, the heat got to me, and I had to retreat to the bedroom to rest in the cool air, and I had to explain to Cooper that my stomach did not feel well. A few minutes later, he was in the bed with me telling me that his stomach hurt, too, and that he needed to lie down and rest with me- too funny!

Over the last few weeks that I have not blogged, we also acquired a nice new camera that is super-fast and great quality. I wish we would have gotten one years ago! So please excuse the abundance of pictures that will follow!

the best way to contain a 2-year-old on a houseboat- please ignore his pajama top. He would not take it off, and I am choosing my battles wisely these days!

What is this little boy thinking?

The funny things that come out of Cooper's mouth on a daily basis keep us rolling with laughter! Two comments he made over the weekend made me think that I need to document them and what better place than the blog!

Cooper and I discovered Saturday that Dan had deleted Coop's favorite Little Einstein episode off of the DVR. When I tried to explain to Cooper what happened to it, the only way I could get him to understand where the episode went was by telling him that it was in outerspace. He seemed to grasp that expanation decently well, so we went on with our day. That evening Cooper said to Dan, "Daddy, can we go to outerspace to get the Little Einstein's back?"

When we were on vacation a few weeks ago, Cooper ate many a "foldover"- Dan's creation of a half soynut butter and jelly sandwich- while we were eating seafood. He has continued to eat foldovers ever since, and they are very popular around here. Last night as we were driving home from the river, Cooper was staring out the window at the half-moon. He announced to us that God had made the moon a fold-over!
