A baby sister for Cooper!

Ever since we told Cooper that there was going to be a baby arriving, he has insisted that it would be a baby sister! I think the fact that some friends of ours starting taking their 3-month-old to our sitter's house about the same time helped to reinforce that idea! Today we found out that he is correct! Baby Sikes is a girl! We are so excited for Cooper (and us, too)! He will be a great big brother!

Quick Auburn Roadtrip

Mom, Cooper, and I made a quick trip to Auburn to be there for Natalie's candlelight and celebrate her engagement with her friends! We had a great time and got to bunk at the White House on Samford with her 10 roommates! Cooper had a blast running from room to room, playing with the new puppies, and visiting with all of Natalie's friends. This mom who is a usually a bedtime enforcer made one mistake, though. I let Cooper stay up and keep playing thinking he would just crash when he was totally worn out. Instead at about 10 pm, Cooper hit a wall that he had never experienced in his two year life! He cried histerically for about an hour and a half about wanting to "go home and sleep." He did not quite understand that home was 6 hours away! Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Natalie & I hiding out before her candlelight in a bathroom in the basement of Graves Hall that I did not know existed! Nat has had lab during chapter all semester, so a couple of friends and the two of us hid and snuck through the back of the storage room into the chapter room.

Fun Easter Weekend!

What a weekend we just had! Other than the most important event of celebrating the resurrection of our Savior, we had lots of fun events! I actually used the video camera more than the snapshot camera for once, so we have fewer pictures! I have to get better about using both!

On Thursday night, Natalie and her boyfriend (at the time) came over to play with Cooper after getting into town! What good sports they are! On Friday night, Nat & Eric got engaged!! We are so excited for them, and couldn't have picked a better guy for Nanie!

We dyed eggs for the first time in the Sikes household, and it was filled with excitement as most craft projects with a two-year-old are! Here is a picture of Edie's egg which Cooper dropped, and after having a meltdown about it, he insisted that we put a band-aid on it! We had family functions, a sip-and-see, a fun Easter party with some friends, and engagement celebrations on Saturday and Sunday!

Here is Cooper on Easter morning with the hit of the weekend- the vacuum cleaner that the Easter Bunny brought him! Yes, there is some pink on the vacuum- we are just overlooking it since it is providing many endless hours of Mickey-Mouse-less entertainment! The school bus was the other big toy left for Cooper, and it was a hit as well!

Uncle Rob is pictured below playing with Cooper on Easter. Cooper had an Easter egg hunt with his cousins on Dan's side, and this is the only picture from the outing, but an appropriate one since Rob entertained Coop the whole time! Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend!

Easter Fun

Cooper's first Easter Egg hunt was a lot of fun! Our church had a petting zoo, face painting (by yours truly and a few friends), cookie decorating, and of course the egg hunt! It was a beautiful morning, and although Cooper was not that interested in the hunt, he had tons of fun with his buddies!

Daddy-Son-Uncle Outing!

Dan took Cooper to Nashville to the USA Soccer game last night! They met up with Uncle Rob and a few friends and had a great time. Cooper was as good as an almost 2 1/2 year old can be, although he told Dan that he was "all done with soccer ball" before the game even started! Thanks to Uncle Rob for entertaining Coop, and for going with the boys so that this tired mommy could have a night at home by herself!
