Sitting Still...

What does it take to get a 21-month old little boy sit still? A yucky virus doesn't hurt, but we have found a less painful trick...

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!!!

Dan and I have decided to squeeze in a couple of days at Disney World in between an Auburn game and a friend's beach wedding in October. Since Cooper has not been a TV watcher up until now, I decided he needed to know who Mickey Mouse is if we are going to visit Disney World. All it took was one video and he was hooked! He asks to watch the "mouse" non-stop! Finally sitting still- at least for a few minutes!

Cooper's First Potty Experience

Cooper has been obsessed with a book about using the potty that my mom gave him. We have read it about 75 times in the last two days, so Dan and I decided to get his potty chair out last night. He did not use it, but he sat on it for a while! My mom gave him this fancy potty for Easter, and we have just been waiting to pull it out and let Cooper sit on his throne- very appropriate for this spoiled little boy!

Cute kids t-shirts!

As I mentioned when I started this blog- I love checking out other people's blogs! I found two twin sister's blogs a few months ago who went to Auburn- Darby & Erika McPherson for those of you who may have known them. Erika is an interior designer who has inspiring posts almost everyday, and Darby is a mom to three young ones. Darby has started sewing and making t-shirts as a fun side job and here is this link to order this t-shirt! What a precious Auburn shirt for the little ones! Click here for info.

The dog has a home!

The sweet dog who made his way to our house a couple of weekends ago has found a new home! My friend, Emily, and her fiance, Russ, are quite the networkers! They found this dog a home so quickly that Dan cancelled the ad in the paper before it ever ran! A great family has adopted her and named her Molly! Thanks Emily & Russ!

Making Daddy Proud

How does a soccer ball cause so much controversy in our household? Since Dan and I have been married, his hobby of watching soccer on tv has always been one of the only things he does that gets under my skin. I cannot stand the sound of the games and it is so boring for me to watch. We even had to agree early on that we could not get the soccer channel in our bedroom! Well, this weekend I left for a few hours on Saturday, and when I returned home all Cooper wanted was to watch soccer on tv. Cooper barely notices the tv, but he has asked to watch soccer a hundred times since Saturday. I am trying to be more tolerant of both of my boys hobby now!

Yeah, Nanie!

Just wanted to give a shout out to Nanie (my sister, Natalie)! She took the DAT for entrance to dental school today and did VERY WELL!!! We are so proud of you- especially Cooper! He loves his Nanie! We are excited about you starting your senior year at Auburn and your dental future! (This is an old picture, I know, but by far the cutest I have!)

Dog Update

I am one lucky girl to have a friend offer to help in dealing with the found dog! After viewing her picture on the blog my friend, Emily, volunteered to board her with her dog, Lucy, until we find her a home! She knows how allergic I am! We have agreed to a "search team" concept until the dog has a new family! Hopefully between the blog, newspaper, and many other networks we are establishing it won't take too long. Thanks, Em! I owe you!

It doesn't get much cuter...

Cooper had gotten really into saying the blessing at mealtime and saying prayers at bedtime, but I was still a little surprised to hear what he came up with tonight. While Nanie, Edie, and Mama were cooking dinner Nanie and I heard Cooper say, "Thank you Jesus for the phone, nanas, and Sadie. Amen." He was in my parents kitchen with their dog, Sadie, had a phone in his hand, and had just eaten a banana- perfection in his little world!

Temporary Boarder

What a sweet face?! Exactly what Dan thought when this puppy followed him home from his bike ride on Saturday morning. Arriving with no collar, we sprung into action! Dan and his friend, Chad, re-rode their bike track in a truck trying to find someone who had lost the dog, and when that proved unsuccesful, Dan and I made the best looking "found dog" signs you have ever seen! Why is carstock fun to me? Secured by zip-ties to stop signs, we hoped these signs would produce an owner. We put an ad in the paper, so we'll see if that results in any calls either! If anyone wants a sweet lab (or some kind of mix) please let us know! She can't live here much longer- I am too allergic, and Cooper is getting too attached!

Friday Night Family Fun

Whoever brought the casual Mexican restaurant idea to the US is one of my heroes! What a great place for families to go where the kids can play and be loud while the moms shamelessly drink margaritas! We had so much fun at local Don Ponchos last night with The Cobles and The Hammonds! Cooper and his friend, Cade, played so well together in their side-by-side highchairs while the Hammonds looked on trying to prepare themselves for life with baby (which could be anyday now- can't wait to meet Emi)!

My Little Cleaner!

Cooper loves to clean! He is obsessed with the dust buster and wants to use it everytime I turn it on. His "Edie" (my mom) found this broom, and Cooper loves it! He cleans when I clean, and is in training for his future wife!!!

Summer Visitors

Two of Cooper's favorite friends came to visit this afternoon. One is Natalie's boyfriend, Eric, and the other is his puppy, Annie. Cooper had tons of fun, but the West Tennessee heat on this August day got the best of us after a few minutes (that's why we are looking at the puppy through the door)!
